The Law Offices of Michele L. McGill represent clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in San Francisco, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Principal attorney, Michele L. McGill has been successfully representing borrowers, lenders, homeowners, investors, buyers, sellers, agents, brokers, co-owners, elders, and others with their real estate and loan issues for more than 25 years, in good markets and bad.
Ms. McGill was born and raised in San Francisco, earned her undergraduate degrees from San Francisco City College and the University of California at Berkeley. She received her law degree from the University of California at Davis – King Hall School of Law – in 1981.
Ms. McGill has prosecuted and defended foreclosure actions throughout her career. With the current mortgage foreclosure and credit crisis, the office is focused on helping homeowners and real estate investors with mortgage modifications, short sales, and other mortgage debt solutions. Where necessary and in appropriate cases, she has filed suit on behalf of borrowers who were placed in predatory or unsustainable loans by lenders and brokers.
Ms. McGill has been an active civil litigator since 1982, working for various law firms before establishing her own firm. Ms. McGill is licensed to practice law in the United States Court for the Northern District of California as well as the Superior Court of the State of California.
Ms. McGill has served as a mediator since 2003 and has received mediation training through the United States District Court for Northern District of California and a 40 hour course provided by the Bar Association of San Francisco. Ms. McGill has successfully mediated dozens of cases on a broad range of matters.
Ms. McGill is a leader in both her state and local bar associations. She is a member of the State Bar of California and participates in both the litigation and real estate sections and serves on the executive committee for the litigation section. She is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and is active in providing mediation services, and is the Co-Chair of the Real Estate Section. Ms. McGill is on the executive committee for the Irish American Bar Association.
Ms. McGill serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the San Francisco Superior Court.
